• Illinois, NSF announce workshop in ‘Clean Energy Education’
A national workshop entitled “Clean Energy Education,” took place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on Oct. 13, 2011. This workshop brought together experts in energy education across the P-20 spectrum, members of government, and representatives of industry to answer the question “What are the crucial elements in a national program of clean energy education, and what are the best practices that such a program should adopt?”
The findings, summarized in a workshop report, are intended to inform decision-makers about the education programs that would provide the most added-value to the progress of the nation, either through more efficient use of existing resources or through highly targeted new programs. For example, it is already evident that a network between educational institutions will allow each to offer a much wider scope and quality of programs in energy science, engineering and technology.
